LEARN Tube (LTube) is a centralized Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering within the LEARN Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) core hosted service portfolio. The service is provided to LEARN member institutions at no additional cost.
LTube provides a private, YouTube-like platform for hosting and streaming media content related to academic courses. It is designed to support Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle, enabling institutions to securely deliver well organized lecture recordings, instructional videos, and other educational media to students.
LTube is integrated with the LEARN Identity Access Federation (LIAF), allowing users to access the service using their institutional credentials or eduID.
LEARN FOSS services can be accessed without data charges through several local Internet Service Providers (ISPs)when using personal Internet connections. These services are provided on a best-effort basis by the LEARN core engineering team and are not covered by a formal Service Level Agreement (SLA).
Faculties/Institutions wishing to obtain a LTube space for the media content of their courses may submit a request via email to foss-team at learn.ac.lk.
